Technology Driving the New Future of Sodium Power Shandong Huana New Energy Stuns at CIBF2023

From May 16th to 18th, the 15th Shenzhen International Battery Technology Conference/Exhibition was held in Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center. Shandong Huana New Energy (hereinafter referred to as Huana New Energy) made a stunning appearance at the exhibition, displaying diversified key material solutions for sodium-ion batteries to visitors from all over the world.

As a key material research and development enterprise of sodium-ion batteries, Huana New Energy is committed to promoting the industrialization of sodium-ion batteries through more innovative key material solutions for sodium-ion batteries. In terms of R&D, the company has a team with 17 years of experience in sodium-ion battery related technology research, with members from the Laboratory of Molecular Nanostructure and Nanotechnology, Institute of Chemistry Chinese Academy of Sciences. The R&D team is constantly realizing technological breakthroughs. It has developed a variety of high-performance laminated cathode materials and possesses its own intellectual property rights in sodium-ion battery technology.

The three cathode materials for sodium-ion batteries on display, namely HP type, MH type and HE type, are made of layered transition metal oxides with better overall performance. The innovative design of the material structure enables them to achieve better performance, meet the differentiated needs of the sodium-ion battery market segments, and realize multi-scenario coverage in energy storage, power battery and other applications.

Higher performance to meet the needs of multi-scenario applications

HP is a high power type sodium ion battery cathode material, with high equalizing pressure, multiplier charge/discharge up to 20C,andmore than 5000 cycles; the capacity retention rate is more than 90% at -20°C environment, which is suitable for power tools, automobile start/stop power supply, and energy storage field.

MH is a medium-high energy type sodium ion battery cathode material with gram capacity of more than 130mAh/g and more than 3000cycles, which is suitable for electric bicycles, electric tricycles, elderly mobility scooters, mini electric passenger cars and other fields.

HE is a high-energy sodium-ion battery cathode material, with a gram capacity of 160mAh/g and an energy density comparable to that of lithium iron phosphate cathode material, and is expected to be used in electric passenger cars, buses, logistics vehicles and other fields.

In addition to cathode material products, Huana New Energy also exhibited three types of sodium-ion batteries, namely, cylindrical, soft pack, and square aluminum shell, which helped visitors understand the performance of each cathode material more intuitively through the actual measurement data.

At present, the 500-ton production line of Huana New Energy has been completed in Jinan, and the anode materials for sodium-ion batteries have achieved large-scale mass production. The company will continue to layout the core material industry of sodium-ion batteries, and with the support of core technology, continue to improve product performance, accelerate the industrialization of sodium-ion batteries, and help realize the goal of “double carbon”.
